Written by Osama, MBBS student, Marks Medical College, Dhaka. I have personally visited almost ninety percent of the medical colleges in Bangladesh, including this Rangpur Community Medical College , and everything in this article is based on what I actually saw and experienced there myself, along with the official fee circular for the 2026-27 session.
Why I Went to See Rangpur Community Medical College
I don’t like writing about a college unless I have actually been there. Fee circulars and Consultants can tell you the numbers, but they can’t tell you what a College feels like when you walk through the gate, sit in a class, or talk to a student who has already spent two or three years living there. So when I visited Rangpur Community Medical College, I took photos, I took videos, and I spoke properly with students and with local people around the hospital. This article is everything I actually saw and heard, combined with the official 2026-27 fee circular, so you have the complete picture in one place.

How is Rangpur as a city and How to reach there from India?
Rangpur is a proper, old, historical city with a strong agricultural background, I saw this myself and trust me, It’s is not a small or empty rural place in Bangladesh at all. What I liked most is how close it actually is to India. If a student wants to go home, the route is simple, you go through the Burimari to Fulbari border, and from there you can reach New Jalpaiguri station and take a train home, or you can use Bagdogra airport nearby and catch a flight to your home city. For a student, or for a worried parent, having this kind of easy and short way back home makes a real difference, and it is one of the biggest reasons I think Rangpur deserves more attention than it usually gets.
How is the Campus of Rangpur Community Medical College
Unlike a lot of colleges in Dhaka, which are built as tall vertical buildings with everything stacked on top of each other, Rangpur Community Medical College has a proper spread out campus. I walked through the classes myself, checked their library and their computer labs, and saw the hostel too.

It genuinely felt more like the kind of medical college campus that Indian students are used to picturing, open grounds, open spaces, and a real university atmosphere, not a cramped and congested city building squeezed between two other buildings and a lot of traffic. It has a proper dedicated Hospital Building which is called the Health city and I saw there were lot of patients. The Hostel is also located in the campus area so it’s easy to go to classes even if you got up late in the morning after a late night study session.

The Students at Rangpur Community Medical College
Because of exactly this border location, Rangpur Community Medical College has built up a genuinely large community of students from West Bengal, Bihar, UP and Nepal over the years. When I spoke to students there, this came through clearly, a lot of them said they felt at home quickly because so many other students around them spoke a familiar language, ate familiar food, and understood the similar culture. That kind of built-in community matters a lot in your first few months away from home, more than people expect before they actually experience it.

How is the hostel at Rangpur Community Medical College for Foreign students?
The hostel here is non AC, and it is a two sharing setup, only two students to a room. I want to point out something important here, because it is a genuine difference from a lot of other colleges. In many colleges in Dhaka, you will find three, four, or even five students sharing one room.
Having just one roommate instead makes daily life noticeably more comfortable, and after five years, that kind of thing matters more than people expect at the start. Students also didn’t even complain about any other mishappenings like Ragging or any misbehavior by seniors or teachers either so that was appreciated.
What I also liked is that the hostel fee is already included in the total fee that the college quotes you, it is not a separate hidden charge that you will find out about later. A lot of colleges do not do this properly, and families end up surprised by extra costs after admission. This college does it the right way, everything is part of one clear total from the start. The only thing clearly outside this total is your daily food, which is paid separately on campus, roughly $40 to $50 a month, and every college in Bangladesh works this way, food is never bundled into the main fee anywhere and that gives you the freedom to choose what you want to eat everyday.
The Curriculum of Rangpur Community Medical College, Same as What You Will Study in India
The MBBS course herein Rangpur Community Medical College (RCMC)follows the same BMDC curriculum that every recognised medical college in Bangladesh follows, and it lines up closely with what students study in India too. We have already written a detailed article comparing the curriculum properly if you want to read that separately, but the short version is this, the subjects, the structure, and the way the course is built here is very similar to what an Indian medical student would expect.

The Hospital of RCMCH, and Why Locals Call It Health City
This is the part that genuinely surprised me the most. Right at the entrance of the hospital building, there is a board that says Health City. I asked around about this, and it turns out that is actually what people in the area call it, because so much of the healthcare for this part of the region runs through this one place.
When I talked to local people near the hospital, the trust they had in the doctors here was clear. They told me the treatment is good, and that people from the surrounding area rely on this hospital because not everyone can afford to travel all the way to Dhaka, or go abroad, for treatment.
Whatever is available in their own city or nearby is what actually matters to most families, and this hospital is one of the biggest ones serving that need in the Rangpur area. It has proper operation theatres, and I was told it handles some of the more serious and complex cases in the region too, simply because it is one of the largest hospitals nearby.

The patient flow I saw myself was genuinely high, and the college runs this hospital as its own fully functional, high capacity facility, so the daily patient flow directly feeds into your ward duties as a student. This matters a lot for a medical student, because more real patients means more real clinical experience, not just theory from a textbook.
This kind of clinical experience will ultimately be useful in internships as the students from India need to complete internships from the same college that they graduate from in the same country. So unlike some colleges in Dhaka and undeveloped College Hospitals in Some part of the country where you don’t get that much patient flow, You’ll have one of the best Clinical internship here.
The Teachers at Rangpur Community Medical College, and What Students Told Me Directly
I spoke to students studying there, and what stood out to me was how consistently they said the same thing. They told me the teaching staff are genuinely supportive, and whenever a student goes to ask a doubt, teachers actually take the time to help, there is no partiality shown to any student over another. This kind of feedback matters a lot to me, because I have heard very different stories from students at other colleges, and hearing this said so plainly and repeatedly by multiple students here is honestly trustworthy.

There is also a foreign student ambassador Dr.Niraj Sir to answer questions or to solve any issues faced by the foreign students and there are other students there too who are happy to guide juniors if they need it. Having that kind of support already in place, from people who are actually living the experience, is something I think every family should know about before choosing a college.
The Official Fee Structure for the 2026-27 Session
Now let me walk you through the actual fee circular properly, because I think families deserve to see the real numbers, not a rounded off estimate. All INR figures below are calculated at the rate the college itself used, 1 USD equals 95.42 INR.
| Academic Fee Component | USD | INR (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Development Fee | $14,350 | ₹13,69,277 |
| Admission & Others | $5,600 | ₹5,34,352 |
| Yearly Session Fee ($2,250 × 4) | $9,000 | ₹8,58,780 |
| Tuition Fee ($200 × 60 months) | $12,000 | ₹11,45,040 |
| Discount on Academic Fee | -$1,950 | -₹1,86,069 |
| Net Academic Cost | $39,000 | ₹37,21,380 |
| Hostel Fee Component | USD | INR (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Hostel Entry Fee | $800 | ₹76,336 |
| Hostel Rent ($45 × 60 months) | $2,700 | ₹2,57,634 |
| Miscellaneous | $2,000 | ₹1,90,840 |
| Net Non-Academic Cost | $5,500 | ₹5,24,810 |
| GRAND TOTAL (5 Years) | $44,500 | ₹42,46,190 |
A quick math check, so you know these numbers are real: $14,350 + $5,600 + $9,000 + $12,000 minus the $1,950 discount comes to exactly $39,000 for academics. $800 + $2,700 + $2,000 comes to exactly $5,500 for hostel. Add both together and you get $44,500, matching the grand total exactly. Every figure here checks out.
One thing worth knowing clearly: the $5,500 non-academic fee covers your full 5-year hostel room rent and entry fee. Food and mess charges are paid separately on campus, roughly $40 to $50 a month, this is standard across every college in Bangladesh, nowhere bundles food into the main fee.
How the Payment Is Spread Across the Years
| When | Details | USD |
|---|---|---|
| At Admission | Seat Booking ($8,000) + Admission ($10,000) | $18,000 |
| Next 8 Installments | $3,000 paid twice a year, May & November, until May 2031 | $24,000 |
| Last Installment | Final payment, October 2031 | $2,500 |
| TOTAL | $44,500 | |
All payments go directly via SWIFT TT to the college’s official Pubali Bank Ltd. account. We always recommend paying directly from your own family’s account, and never through a third party, since that is the only way to be genuinely certain your money is reaching the college itself.
Who This College Is Actually Good For
Based on everything I saw and heard, I would say this college suits a student well if a proper spread out campus matters to you, if you want fewer people in your hostel room instead of a crowded shared space, if you want your fees to be honest and included upfront without hidden charges showing up later, and if being close to the India border for easy travel home matters to your family.

The high patient flow is also a genuine advantage for anyone who takes their clinical training seriously, and the existing community of students from West Bengal, Bihar, and Nepal makes settling in genuinely easier than at a lot of other colleges.
My Honest Recommendation
After visiting this college myself, talking to the students, talking to the local people around the hospital, and going through the actual official fee circular line by line, I would genuinely recommend Rangpur Community Medical College. It has a beautiful culture of students and its near the border and people are supportive here and the most important part is that this college has the high patient flow which will allow you to practice better in internship as well as clinical classes.
This is not a college I am describing from a brochure or from someone else’s recommendation, it is based on what I personally walked through, what people told me directly when I asked, and numbers I checked myself against the official document. If you want to take the admission here then go through official means and do not let these Consultants scam you. We are always here to help.
