Diabetic Association
Medical College, Faridpur
Also known as: DAMCF | An Institution of Faridpur Diabetic AssociationWritten by Osama, MBBS student, Marks Medical College, Dhaka. I personally visited this college, and Samad made a video of it for our YouTube channel.
About Diabetic Association Medical College
Diabetic Association Medical College, mostly called DAMCF, was started in 2009 in Faridpur, and it’s run by the Faridpur Diabetic Association, a genuine non-profit organisation that’s been working in healthcare in that area since the 1980s. This isn’t some college that got set up purely as a business, it grew out of a diabetes clinic that expanded, over decades, into a full 500-bed hospital, and the medical college came after that. The Faridpur Diabetic Association is also the second member of the International Diabetes Federation from Bangladesh, which tells you the organisation behind this college has real, long-standing credibility in healthcare, not just in running a college.
The college is affiliated with the University of Dhaka, recognised by BM&DC, and approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It runs the standard 5-year MBBS course.

The Official Fee Structure of Diabetic Association Medical College— Session 2026-2027
| # | What It’s For | Amount (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Admission Fee | $21,500 |
| 2 | Tuition Fees (full MBBS course) | $15,000 |
| 3 | Internship Fee Refunded fully as honorarium at BDT 20,000/month during internship | $1,900 |
| 4 | AC Hostel — 5 years $60/month × 60 months | $3,600 |
| TOTAL | $42,000 |
Math check: $21,500 + $15,000 + $1,900 + $3,600 = $42,000. Matches exactly, no hidden extra.
One thing I genuinely like here, the internship fee of $1,900 isn’t a real charge, it comes back to you fully as a monthly honorarium of BDT 20,000 during your internship year. So it’s more of a deposit than a fee, and the college states this plainly in writing.
Payment Schedule
What’s NOT Included
Food: a student has to bear their own food cost, this is not part of the $42,000.
Dhaka University Registration: a separate $1,000, paid on top of the total.
Professional exam fees: paid separately to the University of Dhaka.
Study Tour fee: charged in the 4th year of MBBS.
Electricity misuse: if you waste electricity, you bear the extra bill yourself.
After 5 years: if a student stays in the hostel beyond the course duration, they’ll pay hostel fees at whatever the rate is at that time.
The circular actually states this directly, in bold: “There is absolutely no other additional or hidden cost.” That’s a genuinely rare thing for a college to put in writing this plainly, and it’s one of the reasons we feel comfortable recommending this one.
Location of Diabetic Association Medical College
The college is in Jheeltuly, Faridpur, which is a district town in Dhaka Division, roughly 120 km from Dhaka city by road. Something worth knowing if you’re travelling from West Bengal, Faridpur sits right at the start of the Bhanga-Benapole Expressway, which runs a fairly direct 129 km stretch from Faridpur toward the Benapole border crossing, the same crossing that’s about 80 km from Kolkata. So while Faridpur isn’t literally next to the border, it does sit on a direct expressway route toward it, which makes travel back and forth genuinely convenient compared to a lot of other colleges further into Dhaka city.

What We Actually Saw When We Visited Diabetic Association Medical College
Osama’s Personal Visit
I went there myself, and Samad filmed it
This is one of the colleges where I actually went, walked around, and talked to people, so I want to tell you exactly what I saw rather than just what’s written on a circular.
The patient flow here is genuinely high. This isn’t a quiet hospital with empty corridors, it’s busy, which matters a lot for MBBS students because real clinical exposure needs real patients. Given that the hospital grew out of a diabetes clinic that’s been running since the 1980s and now has 500 beds, that patient volume makes sense, this is a hospital with a real, established local reputation, not one built just to serve the college.
The hostel setup surprised me in a good way. It’s built like proper flats rather than the typical hostel block, and there’s a lift in the building, which sounds like a small thing until you’re the one carrying your luggage up four floors. The rooms have AC, which is included in that $60 a month hostel charge in the fee structure, so it’s not an extra cost on top.
What stood out most to me while talking to people there was how supportive the teachers were, and honestly, even the local people around the campus were welcoming. That’s not something every college location can offer, and it makes a real difference to how settled a student feels in their first year, especially someone who’s just left home for the first time.
🎥 Samad filmed the full campus visit Diabetic Association Medical College for our YouTube channel, SamadMBBS, if you want to see the hostel, the hospital, and the campus for yourself instead of just reading about it.
This is genuinely one of the colleges I’d recommend without much hesitation. The fee structure is clean, itemised properly, and the college states plainly in writing that there’s no hidden cost beyond what’s listed, which is rare and worth trusting. The internship fee coming back to you as a monthly honorarium is a nice touch that a lot of families miss when they’re first comparing colleges.
What actually convinced me on the ground was the patient flow and the way people there treated us, both the teaching staff and the locals around campus. AC hostels with a proper lift-equipped flat system is a genuine step up from what a lot of other colleges offer for a similar fee.
